‘THE GALLAECI. A community between two worlds’ is an impressive archaeological and visual guide to the province of Pontevedra. It covers 2,000 years of Galician history from the Bronze Age to early Christianity, represented by 20 iconic archaeological sites located in the province of Pontevedra. The northwest of the Iberian Peninsula is one of the most densely populated areas of Spain in terms of archaeological sites. This guide contains a comprehensive display of 160 remarkable illustrations and photographs, as well as information and educational material about the excavations from the archaeologists who worked on them. They give us a first-hand account of the rich and unique cultural patrimony of the region. In addition, it includes never-seen-before aerial views obtained by drones. The guide details a tour of the sites of A Cabeciña, Penalba, Santa Trega, A Lanzada, Monte do Facho, Monte do Castro, Alobre, Castrolandín and Adro Vello, among many others. This is a joint publication by the Provincial Council of Pontevedra and the Alvarellos Editora publishing house. It contains the most recent research findings that identify prehistoric Galicia as a bridge between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
